How It's Made

Understanding the production process helps you appreciate the craftsmanship and communicate the product story to your customers.

Decorations are made using a combination of wet felting (for flat shapes and balls) and needle felting (for sculpted 3D forms). Flat ornaments are cut from wet-felted sheets and hand-stitched with decorative details. 3D figures (Santas, animals, snowmen) are needle-felted over a wire armature — the artisan repeatedly stabs loose wool with barbed needles to build up layers and sculpt features. Garlands are assembled by stringing felt balls, shapes, or figures onto cotton cord. Each piece is quality-checked for consistency, color accuracy, and secure assembly.

When should I place Christmas ornament orders?
For sea freight delivery to Europe, North America, or Australia in time for Q4 retail, orders should be placed by July-August at the latest. Air freight orders can be placed through September. Production takes 2-4 weeks, sea freight takes 4-6 weeks. Many retailers place their Christmas orders in May-June to ensure buffer time.
Can I get custom ornament designs?
Yes, we produce custom ornaments from your designs or photographs. Send us a sketch, image, or description and we will create a sample (1-2 weeks, $20-50 sample fee). Once approved, bulk production begins. Custom designs are perfect for branded corporate gifts, event favors, or exclusive product lines.
How durable are felt ornaments?
Felt ornaments last for years with reasonable care. Store them in a dry, cool place between seasons. Wool's natural resistance to crushing means they hold their shape well. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (may fade colors) and keep away from moths (use cedar sachets in storage). Our ornaments have been tested to withstand normal handling in retail environments.
