How It's Made

Understanding the production process helps you appreciate the craftsmanship and communicate the product story to your customers.

Slippers are wet-felted over wooden shoe lasts (molds) in specific sizes. Wool roving is layered over the last, soaked in hot soapy water, and worked by hand until it shrinks tightly around the form. Once dried, the felt is cut open along the top to create the slipper opening, and edges are finished by needle-felting or stitching. Leather soles are glued and stitched onto the bottom. Decorative elements — animal faces, flowers, patterns — are needle-felted onto the surface. Each pair is checked for size consistency and sole adhesion before packaging.

What sizes are available?
We produce adult sizes from EU 35 to EU 47 (US Women's 5 to Men's 13) and children's sizes from EU 22 to EU 34. Felt has natural flex, so each size comfortably fits a 1-2 size range. We recommend ordering a size assortment pack for your first order to determine your best-selling sizes.
Do the slippers shrink after washing?
Felt slippers should not be fully submerged or machine washed — this can cause further shrinkage. Spot clean with a damp cloth. If they do get wet, stuff with newspaper and air dry at room temperature. Our slippers are pre-shrunk during the felting process, so minimal further shrinkage occurs with normal use.
Which designs sell best?
In our experience, animal slippers (especially cats and foxes) are the bestsellers in gift shops and online. Solid-color slippers in earth tones (charcoal, natural, burgundy) sell best in home goods and eco stores. Children's animal slippers have the highest margins and fastest turnover. Seasonal designs (reindeer, snowflake) spike strongly in Q4.
